Insurance
Most health benefit plans provide coverage for Physiotherapy, Chiropractic, Massage Therapy and Acupuncture; however, these benefits are different for each policy.
Upper Ottawa Physiotherapy is happy to assist you in determining your insurance coverage, however, because of restrictions with the privacy policy, most insurers will only give this information to you.
We highly recommend that you contact your insurance carrier and learn what your benefits are. There should be an "800" number on your insurance card that you can call to obtain this information.
Your insurance policy may require you to pay a deductible, a co-payment, and/or a percentage of the costs of your treatment.
We are currently able to bill directly for:
- Manulife Plan Members - 100% unlimited physiotherapy coverage
- Hamilton Wentworth District (HWDSB) and Catholic District School Board Employees (HWCDSB) - 100% unlimited physiotherapy coverage
- Green Shield plan members - Direct, online access to plans and payments
- Blue Cross plan members - Direct, online access to plans and payments
- ALL Auto Insurance carriers - Direct, online access to plans and payments
- ALL OHIP physiotherapy payments - Direct, online access to plan and payment (please note, OHIP does not cover assessments or administrative fees)
- ALL Workers Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) payments - Direct, online access to plan and payment (Please note, it is the worker's responsibility to ensure that treatment is approved. In the event it is not approved, the worker is responsible for all assessment and treatment costs)
If your plan is not listed here, the medical receptionists at UOP will assist you in filing your insurance claim so that you are reimbursed for your treatment in a timely manner.
